Welcome to South Lyon Community Schools
South Lyon Community Schools are found in the southwestern corner of Oakland County, Michigan and covers approximately 83 square miles in parts of Oakland, Livingston, and Washtenaw Counties. Our school district history goes back to 1834 when a one-room log schoolhouse was built just east of town. Today the school district consists of two high schools, two middle schools, and seven  elementary schools. The administration facility, built jointly with the City of South Lyon, is the first shared school/municipal building in the State of Michigan.

Beginning with the 2012-2013 school year, our primary means of communications will be electronic. Paper copies of some communications will be made available only if requested. In lieu of printed report cards for secondary students at the marking periods, grades may be viewed online. Semester and year-end report cards will still be mailed home. If you have any questions, please contact your building principal.
